The recorded cases of discovered cheating in the regional baccalaureate showed a significant increase of 167 percent in this session compared to the previous session in 2025.
The Ministry of National Education revealed on Wednesday that 4,929 cases of cheating were detected during these exams. The number of cheating cases detected increased by 167 percent compared to the 2025 session, thanks to the teams responsible for monitoring and supervision, as well as the widespread use of the electronic system to assist in detecting cheating, as approximately 2,000 units were provided to examination centers, along with the necessary logistical and technical support for local teams to monitor cheating.
A statement from the ministry mentioned that the number of candidates reached 570,696, with school candidates making up 82.2 percent of them, while free candidates constituted 17.8 percent. It was added that the attendance rate in this session was 97.7 percent for school candidates and 64.1 percent for free candidates.
It emphasized that this session continued to implement the measures approved by the ministry, as various resources and means were mobilized to ensure the examinations were conducted under conditions that respect the principles of merit and equal opportunities, by updating the procedures organizing the various examination processes, improving the quality of test topics according to the approved reference frameworks, and enhancing correction mechanisms using a digital system that ensures standardization and minimizes errors.
Measures to secure the examinations were also supported by tightening protection measures for the topics during the phases of duplication, storage, and transport, and enhancing coordination with various stakeholders and monitoring and vigilance committees.
In the field of combatting cheating, a package of awareness, organizational, and punitive measures was adopted, supported by the widespread use of electronic systems for detecting cheating and training the staff responsible for operating them.
According to the same source, the 2026 session is also characterized by the continued digitization of baccalaureate examination management through electronic secret numbering, and the adoption of secure digital certificates and statements, which contributes to improving the governance of examinations and enhancing the credibility of the national baccalaureate certificate.
The security efforts also included organizing training sessions for about 4,014 educational and administrative staff to enable them to optimally use these systems in detecting and reducing cheating cases.
The ministry announced that the process of correcting the candidates’ achievements began in all correction centers at the regional academies of education and training, with the participation of about 21,150 teachers to carry out this process. After conducting the deliberations, the results will be announced on July 9, 2026.
The ministry concluded by commending the educational mobilization atmosphere among partners and stakeholders of the Moroccan school and the involvement of teaching staff in ensuring the conduct of the tests for this important national qualification under good conditions, as well as the significant support received from the security and local authorities in ensuring it and from the media in covering it, calling on everyone to continue working with a spirit of responsibility to ensure the success of conducting future sessions, especially the unified national exam, which will begin on Thursday, June 4, 2026.
