The Spanish Civil Guard announced the dismantling of a criminal network specialized in smuggling hashish from Morocco to Spain. The network utilized an innovative method by employing fixed-wing drones to transport drugs toward the Campo de Gibraltar area.
According to Spanish authorities, nine individuals suspected of involvement in this network were arrested.
This operation is part of the ongoing efforts by Spanish authorities to combat drug trafficking across the Strait of Gibraltar, which is considered one of the main maritime routes between Morocco and Spain.
Additionally, police in the Tetouan Security District previously seized 26,550 drug tablets and arrested two individuals aged 20 and 25 on Wednesday, November 5, for their links to a criminal network engaged in international drug trafficking using drones.
