The United Arab Emirates has expressed its full support for Morocco and its legitimate rights in the Sahara, following a decision that considers autonomy as the basis for negotiations to resolve the conflict.
On Saturday, Abu Dhabi welcomed Security Council Resolution No. 2797, which calls for engagement in negotiations based on the Moroccan autonomy initiative, viewing it as an important step toward a final and sustainable political solution to the issue, in accordance with the principles and goals of the United Nations Charter and relevant Security Council resolutions.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs commended the diplomatic efforts made by the United States in drafting and presenting this resolution, which reflects the importance of resolving disputes through negotiations and peaceful means.
The UAE also reaffirmed its steadfast position in solidarity and full support for the Kingdom of Morocco, safeguarding its legitimate rights in the Moroccan Sahara, and all that ensures the security, stability, and sovereignty of the Kingdom, contributing to enhanced peace, stability, and sustainable prosperity in the region.
