This reflects the special care the king gives to protecting the lives of citizens, safeguarding their safety, and ensuring their security in the face of the impacts of exceptional climatic conditions.
The National Committee for Monitoring Flood Management and Tracking Events highly appreciated these royal instructions during a meeting held on Friday, January 30, at the Ministry of Interior.

This meeting comes within the framework of the public authorities closely and attentively monitoring the repercussions of climatic fluctuations occurring in some regions of the kingdom, especially in the city of Ksar al-Kabir, following the exceptional floods resulting from heavy rainfall and rising water levels in rivers, along with the challenges associated with managing reservoir capacities that have reached full capacity due to significant water inflows.
This meeting also served as an opportunity to present measures aimed at enhancing the momentum of ongoing interventions and strengthening the field monitoring dynamics in place, by promoting field observation and monitoring mechanisms, expanding the mobilization of human resources and logistical means, and deploying the necessary equipment. In addition, there is a focus on solid coordination between various authorities and sectors, adopting supportive qualitative measures, ensuring that interventions are directed with the highest degrees of efficiency and effectiveness in facing precise climatic conditions.
During this meeting, the measures taken to contain the rising water levels of the Loukkos and Sebou rivers and their related channels were reviewed, aiming to limit the expansion of the areas affected by flooding and reduce potential repercussions on residents, properties, and infrastructure. This is in the framework of continuous and effective coordination among various stakeholders.
In this context, the monitoring and precise surveillance of the situation’s development was emphasized, while maintaining a state of maximum mobilization and ensuring readiness for immediate intervention whenever necessary, until weather conditions improve and these exceptional circumstances are overcome.
