The Africa Cup of Nations, held in Morocco, generated unprecedented record revenues, the highest in the history of the tournament.
According to Moroccan events, the revenues of this edition surpassed 220 million US dollars, exceeding the 2023 tournament in Côte d’Ivoire, which did not exceed 100 million US dollars. The Morocco edition witnessed an increase in the number of sponsors that reached 23 compared to nine sponsors in the 2021 edition.
The African Union had described the Morocco edition as “the most commercially successful in the history of the tournament,” noting that its revenues rose by 90 percent.
These revenues, however, remain threatened and difficult to replicate in future editions, especially after the incidents involving some African teams, notably the Senegalese team, which made sponsors more apprehensive.
