Mandatory Compensation by Amendis to a Citizen After Water Cut Off from His Home

The administrative court in the city of Tangier issued a definitive ruling on Monday, December 29, 2025, obliging the Amandis company to pay a financial compensation of 7,000 dirhams to a citizen after cutting off his drinking water supply without cause or prior warning.

The details of the case date back to August 18, when the concerned individual was surprised by the Amandis company cutting off water to his home for more than 12 hours, which prompted him to call a judicial commissioner and prepare a report regarding the water supply cut incident.

Subsequently, the affected citizen filed a lawsuit against the Amandis company for its administrative responsibility for the incident. The trial lasted approximately two months, ending with a compensation ruling in favor of the plaintiff, and placing the costs within the limits of the ordered amount.

Several neighborhoods in the city of Tangier experience repeated interruptions of drinking water from time to time, causing significant problems and suffering for the residents. This ruling confirms the citizens’ right to compensation for such unjustified interruptions.
