The Ministry of Interior announced the provision of support and care for vulnerable groups, including 665 homeless individuals, 2,790 pregnant women, and 18,722 elderly people, due to the cold wave.

Data from the Ministry of Interior indicated that significant resources have been mobilized to assist the population affected by the cold wave in 28 provinces and regions, covering 243 municipalities and 2,018 areas and villages.

According to the same data, 1,482 areas, representing a total of 73.4 percent, are located at altitudes ranging from 1,500 to 2,499 meters, while 29 areas (1.4 percent) are situated at altitudes exceeding 2,500 meters.

Regarding the resources that have been mobilized, the distribution of approximately 4,540 tons of heating wood and 10,421 improved stoves has been programmed, in coordination with the National Agency for Water and Forests, as well as with the Ministries of National Education and Preschool Education, and Health and Social Protection.

The statement concluded that 1,024 snowplows have also been mobilized, in coordination with the Ministry of Equipment and Water, and placed in advance along the road axes, to ensure rapid intervention and prevent any isolation of the affected areas.
