The security forces in Tangier, in coordination with the police in the city of Tetouan, based on information provided by the General Directorate of National Territory Surveillance, arrested a 39-year-old taxi driver this morning, Monday, December 8, on suspicion of being involved in a case related to non-compliance and endangering the lives of road users.
A police patrol had caught the suspect committing traffic violations while driving a taxi on the Tetouan road, as he did not comply and drove in the opposite direction in a manner that endangered the lives of road users. These criminal acts were the subject of a video posted on social media platforms.
The investigations and inquiries conducted in this case led to the identification of the suspect driver before he was arrested during a security operation carried out in the city of Tetouan.
The suspect has been subjected to judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office to uncover all the circumstances, details, and backgrounds of this case.
“Fake Taxi”
The taxi professionals who published the video clip said that it concerns a “fake” taxi, indicating that his escape in this manner raised suspicions about him.
