Meeting between the Ministers of Interior of France and Morocco to discuss security and migration issues.

The Minister of Interior, Abdelouafi Laftit, held talks on Tuesday, November 25, in the city of Marrakech, with his French counterpart Laurent Nuñez.

The Interior Ministry stated in a press release that this bilateral meeting provided an opportunity for both parties to review various issues of mutual interest, which concern their respective ministries.

The two ministers acknowledged the solid foundations of bilateral cooperation in the fields of security and immigration, based on mutual trust, reinforced by continuous exchanges, and supported by a convergence of views on strategic issues.

They recalled that this cooperation fully aligns with the declaration of the close exceptional partnership, which was signed by King Mohammed VI and French President Emmanuel Macron during the state visit in October 2024.

Regarding the issue of immigration, the ministers emphasized the positive role played by the Moroccan-French Joint Permanent Group on Immigration, which serves as an appropriate mechanism for dialogue and coordination on immigration matters.

The two ministers also discussed ways to enhance channels for the exchange of expertise and information to maintain a dynamic capable of constructively addressing multiple threats, especially those related to the activities of terrorist groups and criminal networks, particularly in the Sahel and Sahara region.
