The primary criminal court has sentenced individuals involved in the riots and vandalism in the cities of Larache, Ksar al-Kabir, and Tangier to a total of 168 years in prison. The sentences were announced on October 1, 2025.
The court delivered its rulings in the early hours of Wednesday, October 29, following extensive discussions that began on the afternoon of Tuesday, October 28.
Tangier: The Majority of Sentences
The individuals arrested in connection with the riots in Tangier received the harshest penalties. Four people were sentenced to ten years each, while four others were given five years each. Additionally, thirteen individuals received sentences of three years each, and one person was sentenced to two years.
Suspended Sentences in Ksar al-Kabir
In Ksar al-Kabir, six individuals received suspended sentences of two years, due to their possession of educational certificates. One person was sentenced to five years in prison, two others received three years each, and two more were sentenced to two years each.
Larache
In Larache, the most severe sentence was four years for one individual, while eight others received three years each and seven were sentenced to two years each. The decision regarding one individual’s case has been postponed.
