The defense of the General Directorate of National Security attributed the responsibility for acts of unrest following the Generation Z demonstrations on October 1, 2025, to what it described as a “night movement.”
During the trial session concerning those charged in connection with the riots in Larache, the national security defense asserted that the protests called by Generation Z represented a “noble movement and legitimate demands,” adding that the “night movement” was responsible for the violence and destruction, exploiting the demonstrations and social demands.
The defense emphasized that Morocco has a “citizen store” and that the police aim to protect the people, asserting that Moroccan security is exemplary globally. It stated that the vandals attempted to portray a “gloomy image of the country.”
The lawyer stressed that security will always target those who violate the law, while maintaining order, security, and stability.
Regarding the Larache incident, the lawyer revealed that the damages caused by the violence amounted to 200,000 dirhams, particularly following the destruction of 10 vehicles. In this context, he demanded compensation of 200,000 dirhams.
