America Denies Visas to Those Who Celebrated or Justified the Killing of Activist Charlie Kirk on Social Media

The U.S. State Department announced Tuesday the revocation of visas for six foreign nationals from various countries following their social media comments celebrating or justifying the murder of conservative political activist Charlie Kirk on September 10.

The department emphasized that the United States “has no obligation to host foreigners who wish death upon Americans.” This announcement was made in a series of tweets from the department on X (formerly Twitter), accompanied by screenshots of the controversial comments. The State Department stated that these actions contradict U.S. foreign policy and national security.

According to the department, the visas were revoked under provisions of immigration law that allow for cancellation in cases deemed harmful to U.S. interests.

### Background: Kirk’s Assassination in Utah

Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA and a close ally of former President Donald Trump, was shot dead while delivering a speech at Utah Valley University on September 10, 2025. The incident has been described as a “political assassination,” with the suspect, believed to be Tyler Robinson, having shot Kirk in the neck during a discussion event that marked the first stop on the “American Dreams” tour.

The suspect remains at large, and authorities are investigating the motivations, which are reportedly linked to a “clear leftist ideology.” The incident has caused widespread shock within conservative circles, leading to the passing of a congressional resolution (H.Res.709) condemning the assassination and honoring Kirk’s legacy. A national day of reflection coincided with the State Department’s announcement.
