Vogue magazine has announced the appointment of Chloe Maly as the Editor-in-Chief of its U.S. edition, effective immediately.
Maly, currently serving as the Editor of Vogue.com and co-host of the weekly fashion and culture podcast “The Run-Through,” will lead the magazine’s creative and editorial direction. She joins ten other Editors-in-Chief across Vogue’s global editions and will operate under the guidance of Anna Wintour, the magazine’s Executive Director.
In a statement, Maly expressed her excitement: “Fashion and media are evolving at a remarkable pace, and I am thrilled and humbled to be a part of this change. I also feel incredibly fortunate to have Anna Wintour as my mentor in this field.”
Maly, who resides in Manhattan with her husband, two children, and dog Lloyd, further stated, “I have spent my career at Vogue across various platforms, from print to digital, from audio to video and events. I love this brand, the content we create, and the editors who craft it. Vogue has shaped my identity, and now I am excited for the opportunity to shape its future.”
Anna Wintour commented in an official statement: “When it came time to choose someone to edit Vogue U.S., I knew I had one opportunity to make the right decision, so I could focus more on growing Vogue globally through its platforms and events like the Met Gala and Vogue World. Chloe Maly has repeatedly proven her ability to balance the rich history of Vogue U.S. with its ambitious future. I am excited to continue working with her, not just as a mentor, but as a learner from her as she leads us into new horizons.”
Maly began her career with Vogue in 2011 as a social editor, leading coverage of weddings and social events, and contributing to various topics including fashion, politics, decor, beauty, and health. She has also edited several books for the magazine and has written for esteemed publications such as The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and Architectural Digest.
