Residents of the “Tajdid” complex in Tangier are appealing to the city’s head, Munir Lymouri, regarding the lack of street lighting in their area. The complex, known as the “Al-Sabbaei Buildings,” comprises 18 apartment buildings named after the real estate company that developed them.
According to the residents, represented by their management offices (Syndic), they are deprived of adequate lighting due to an ongoing administrative issue between the real estate company and the relevant authorities. This problem has persisted since the apartments were handed over to their owners several years ago.
In a complaint received by “Tangier7,” the affected residents emphasize that the absence of lighting in the “Al-Sabbaei Buildings” is leading to numerous issues, including assaults, thefts, and outsiders entering the complex to engage in drug activities. They also report concerns about stray dogs and face difficulties navigating the area in darkness.
In April, the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region’s division of equipment forwarded a similar complaint to the Tangier municipality regarding the lack of lighting in the “Al-Sabbaei Buildings” for review and appropriate action.
