A six-year-old boy drowned on Saturday, June 28, while vacationing with his family in the Tahdart area, located between the cities of Tangier and Asilah.
The child was playing near the beach along the Tahdart River, which leads to the Asilah coastline. It is believed he fell into the water and swallowed a significant amount without anyone noticing, resulting in his death.
The boy’s body was transferred to the morgue at the “Duc de Tovar” Hospital in Tangier for examination. The family will be permitted to proceed with burial after the completion of the necessary protocols in such cases.
Less than 12 hours prior to this incident, a 20-year-old man also drowned at the Alghandouri beach in Tangier, which has experienced multiple drowning incidents even before the formal start of the summer season.
