The results of the ongoing research regarding the economic situation of households, conducted by the High Commission for Planning, for the fourth quarter of 2025, show that 10.7 percent of households reported their ability to save in the next 12 months.
The Commission clarified through a news memorandum that during the fourth quarter of 2025, 10.7 percent of households stated their ability to save compared to 89.2 percent. Thus, the balance of this indicator remained at its negative level, recording minus 78.5 points, compared to minus 80.8 points during the previous quarter, and minus 77.8 points during the same quarter of the previous year.
During the fourth quarter of 2025, 91.7 percent of households reported that food prices had increased over the last 12 months. Thus, the balance of this indicator remained at minus 90.9 points, showing an improvement compared to the previous quarter (minus 95.5 points) and compared to the same quarter of the previous year (minus 97.2 points).
As for the expected trend of food prices over the next 12 months, 75.0 percent of households expect them to continue to rise, while the percentage of households expecting a decrease does not exceed 2.0 percent.
