Eight Arab and Islamic countries welcomed, on Wednesday, in a joint statement, the invitation extended to their leaders by the President of the United States, Donald Trump, to join the Peace Council.

The joint statement was issued by the Foreign Ministers of Egypt, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, the Republic of Indonesia, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Republic of Turkey, and the State of Qatar.

The ministers announced, in the statement, the joint decision of their countries to join the Peace Council. Each country will sign the accession documents in accordance with its relevant legal procedures and other necessary measures, including Egypt, Pakistan, and the United Arab Emirates, which previously announced their accession.

The ministers reiterated their countries’ support for the peace efforts led by President Trump and confirmed their commitment to supporting the implementation of the Peace Council’s mission as a transitional body as outlined in the comprehensive plan to end the conflict in Gaza and as adopted by United Nations Security Council Resolution 2803, aiming to establish a permanent ceasefire, support the reconstruction of Gaza, and strive for a just and lasting peace based on meeting the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and the establishment of their state in accordance with international law, paving the way for achieving security and stability for all countries and peoples in the region.
