The Ministry of African Integration, Foreign Affairs, and Senegalese Abroad confirmed today, Saturday, that the final of the Africa Cup of Nations (Morocco – 2025), which will bring together the national teams of the Republic of Senegal and the Kingdom of Morocco tomorrow, Sunday in Rabat, will primarily be a “celebration of brotherhood” between the Senegalese and Moroccan peoples.
The ministry explained in a statement that “this sporting event will serve above all as a celebration of the brotherhood between two peoples that share deep historical, economic, humanitarian, and spiritual ties,” highlighting “the distinguished relations of friendship and solidarity between Senegal and Morocco.”
In this spirit of trust and partnership, the Senegalese Foreign Ministry pointed out that “in loyalty to this historic friendship, the Kingdom of Morocco has demonstrated exemplary cooperation since the onset of the Africa Cup of Nations.”
The same source added that “the Senegalese authorities express their satisfaction with the stability of this fraternal stance and extend their gratitude to the Moroccan government,” affirming that relations between the two countries, “based on mutual respect and a shared vision of African and international challenges, have continuously strengthened over the decades.”
The ministry continued that “Senegal considers sport, and football in particular, as a powerful lever for rapprochement and cohesion among peoples,” adding that this final “should, therefore, be experienced as a celebration of African talent, of the unity of the continent, and of the strong brotherhood between the Senegalese and Moroccan peoples, away from any circumstantial considerations.”
In this regard, the ministry called on “all stakeholders, fans, and the public to embody a spirit of responsibility, respect, and sportsmanship, in loyalty to the strength of Senegalese-Moroccan relations and to preserve the image of African football on the international stage.”
