On Saturday, January 3, police officers in the Security Zone of the Port of Tangier Med arrested a 29-year-old drug dealer, a French national of Tunisian descent. He is the subject of an international arrest warrant issued by the Tunisian judicial authorities.
The operation revealed that the suspect was wanted internationally based on a red notice issued by the National Central Bureau in Tunisia when his details were checked against the database of the International Criminal Police Organization, “Interpol.” He is suspected of being involved in a case related to belonging to a criminal gang and drug trafficking.
The individual has been detained under police custody while awaiting extradition, in compliance with the instructions of the competent public prosecution. Meanwhile, the National Central Bureau “Interpol Rabat,” part of the Directorate General of National Security, has been tasked with informing its counterpart in Tunisia about the arrest.
This operation, according to an official source, falls within the framework of ongoing international security cooperation aimed at pursuing individuals wanted in cross-border cases. It also reaffirms Morocco’s role as an effective partner in combating organized crime at the international level.
