The local authorities in Marrakech reported that a five-story building under construction, located in the Winter Neighborhood, completely collapsed in the early hours of Thursday, without recording any injuries or loss of life.
The local authorities indicated that the incident also caused a partial collapse of the building adjacent to the collapsed structure.
The local and security authorities intervened earlier on the night of Wednesday, December 31, 2025, after receiving information about cracks in the mentioned building, in order to evacuate it and the nearby shops and buildings, and to secure its surroundings.
An investigation has been opened by the relevant authorities, under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor, regarding this matter. The relevant parties have also initiated the administrative and technical procedures in place to uncover all the circumstances surrounding this incident and to determine responsibilities, following the completion of all procedures, in accordance with the applicable laws.
