The parliamentarian Salwa Al-Bardai demanded the truth about the “contacts” received by a contractor before the cancellation of a public contract related to “preparing and supplying meals for patients and employees” at hospitals in the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region.
According to the parliamentarian, one of the companies participating in a public contract launched by the Ministry of Health, concerning catering at the civil hospital in Tetouan, Ben Kreysh Hospital, and Razi Hospital, received a “formal notification indicating approval of the estimated cost statement for the order subject to contract number 32/2025/EST-DT, only to be later surprised by the cancellation of the contract and its re-announcement, without a clear legal justification, despite meeting the required technical and administrative conditions.”
The same source indicated that according to a correspondence dated December 12, 2025, the contractor concerned received unofficial contacts requesting them to withdraw from the process before the decision to cancel was made.
The parliamentarian considered that “these contacts” raise questions about the extent to which principles of transparency and equal opportunity are respected in managing public contracts, especially in a vital sector like health. She demanded clarification from the minister regarding the legal provisions adopted and the nature of the contacts received by the contractor.
