The specialized authorities in the region of Ouarzazate intervened to transport a pregnant woman from the Aaslin village to the maternity home in Ighram Noghdaal. Mother Khadija was able to give birth to her baby under good conditions on Tuesday, December 16, despite the difficult weather conditions that the area is experiencing.
This intervention by the relevant authorities, well in advance of the woman’s delivery date, ensured optimal care for both the mother and her child in terms of accommodation, monitoring, and necessary medical attention.
This measure also aimed to spare Khadija, like other pregnant women in the area, the hardship of traveling that could be caused by snowfall on the day of delivery.
Khadija, in her thirties, expressed her deep satisfaction with the warm reception she received and the professionalism of the kind staff, without forgetting to commend the quality of the equipment and the cleanliness of this health facility close to the residents, in a statement to the Maghreb Arab News Agency.
Ighram Noghdaal (90 km from Ouarzazate), like other municipalities in the region, is witnessing significant snowfall. Meanwhile, local authorities, in coordination with the relevant services, are providing support to citizens, especially pregnant women and other vulnerable groups.
Similarly, the intervention teams remain on standby to ensure smooth traffic flow, particularly on routes experiencing heavy snowfall, including the Ighram Noghdaal and Tizi N’Tichka routes.
It is worth mentioning that the regional vigilance committee for addressing the impacts of the cold wave in Ouarzazate recently held a meeting dedicated to discussing proactive measures to mitigate the effects of the cold wave and snowfall that several areas in the region are experiencing.
This meeting, chaired by the governor of the Ouarzazate province, Abdullah Jahiz, provided an opportunity for representatives from various relevant services to showcase their field interventions aimed at protecting the population and enhancing the readiness of intervention teams.
