The General Directorate of Meteorology reported that strong rains, snowfall, and strong storm winds are expected in several regions of Morocco, due to the impact of the storm named “Emilia.”
The Directorate clarified, in an alert bulletin with an orange vigilance level, that snowfall (starting from 1600 meters) is expected to reach 50 to 60 cm in the provinces of Al Haouz, Azilal, and Ouarzazate, and from 30 to 50 cm in the provinces of Chichaoua, Tinghir, Taroudant, Midelt, Khenifra, and Beni Mellal, and from 10 to 30 cm in the provinces of Ifrane, Sefrou, and Boulemane, from next Tuesday at midnight until next Wednesday at noon.
Strong rains, sometimes accompanied by thunderstorms, are also expected, ranging from 40 to 60 mm in the provinces of Al Haouz, Azilal, Beni Mellal, Khmisset, Ben Slimane, Settat, Temara-Skhirat, Salé, Berrechid, Khenifra, and Khouribga, on next Tuesday from midnight to 11 p.m.
Additionally, strong storm winds ranging from 75 to 85 km/h are expected in the provinces of Al Haouz, Taroudant, Ouarzazate, Zagora, Tata, Tiznit, Sidi Ifni, and Guelmim, from next Tuesday at 6 a.m. until next Wednesday at 6 a.m.
