New Parking System to Be Implemented in Tangier Starting July 9
Starting Wednesday, July 9, Tangier will implement a new parking system across more than six areas, particularly in the city center.

The local authority has stated that this system aims to organize parking in accordance with efficiency, digitalization, and transparency. It seeks to enhance relations with residents by ensuring the freedom of movement while discontinuing the practice of immobilizing vehicles that violate parking regulations.
The new system is designed to ensure the smooth flow of traffic on various streets and plazas throughout the city. It will guide the use of designated parking spaces by respecting rotation and equality among all users.
Rights of Residents, Merchants, and Individuals with Disabilities
The new regulations emphasize protecting the basic rights of individuals with disabilities by offering free parking and designated spaces for their use. Consideration will also be given to residents and merchants, who will receive priority for parking along with preferential subscription offers at appropriate prices.
Implementational Measures
To effectively execute the regulatory provisions, several measures have been taken. These include deploying staff members, including sworn agents, and providing necessary logistical and technical equipment. Additionally, horizontal and vertical signage will be established for designated parking areas. Updates to the time and pricing signs will also align with international standards.
