Fire in Al-Sharaf Area Expands to Residents’ Homes (Video)

A fire broke out in a green area in the Sharaf district of Tangier on Sunday, June 29. The blaze spread quickly to nearby homes due to the Cherqui winds.

The fire caused panic among residents as the flames approached their houses. Emergency services intervened to assist individuals suffering from smoke inhalation. Evacuations were conducted, and flammable materials, including gas canisters, were removed from the area.

Tangier has been experiencing a significant heat wave since Saturday, accompanied by Cherqui winds. According to meteorological reports, this heat wave is expected to continue until Monday, June 30.

In conjunction with these developments, the Water and Forest Agency has warned of a high risk of fire in Tangier, designating the Tangier-Assila region as a “red alert” zone due to elevated fire forecasts.
