On Friday, June 27, security personnel at Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca apprehended a 24-year-old individual from a sub-Saharan African country on suspicion of involvement in international cocaine trafficking.
The suspect was detained immediately upon his arrival on a flight from a South American airport. A subsequent search revealed that he was carrying 5.6 kilograms of cocaine, which was carefully concealed within his luggage.
The suspect is currently being held in police custody, pending an investigative process conducted by the Casablanca judicial police under the supervision of the relevant public prosecutor’s office. This investigation aims to clarify the circumstances surrounding the case.
According to an official statement, this operation aligns with the ongoing efforts of the General Directorate of National Security to combat international drug trafficking and psychoactive substances.
