Akhannouch Affirms Government Commitment to Development Initiatives
On Saturday, June 21, 2025, Aziz Akhannouch, president of the National Rally of Independents party, addressed attendees in Agadir, highlighting the Moroccan government’s ongoing commitment to major developmental projects. These initiatives, launched across various sectors, are being driven by King Mohammed VI.
Akhannouch made these statements during the fourth phase of the national tour titled "Path of Achievements." This initiative aims to enhance dialogue with citizens and present the government’s achievements at both local and national levels.
Achievements
Akhannouch emphasized that the government team, supported by a cohesive political majority, is actively addressing challenges and building on successes achieved in the context of comprehensive development. Notable achievements mentioned include wage increases in both public and private sectors, which have improved citizens’ purchasing power. Additionally, the government has managed to reduce inflation and public debt rates while maintaining financial stability. Efforts have also been made to boost various socio-economic sectors, which are crucial for economic growth and improving the quality of life across the kingdom.
Souss-Massa Region
During his remarks about the Souss-Massa region, Akhannouch highlighted the significant developmental progress occurring there. This is evident through the implementation of structural projects aimed at social and economic development. Among these projects is the establishment of a university hospital center expected to enhance healthcare services. Irrigation projects in the regions of Ait Baha, Tiznit, and Taroudant are supporting agricultural sectors and stabilizing farmers. Furthermore, efforts are underway to expand Agadir Al Massira Airport, increasing its capacity to 2.7 million passengers by 2030, which will significantly benefit local tourism and the economy.
Path of Achievements
The "Path of Achievements" tour, which began in the Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab region, aims for a comprehensive outreach throughout all regions of the kingdom. It seeks to bring government policies closer to citizens through "Free Discussions," facilitating direct communication to address public concerns and provide a clear vision of government accomplishments. Akhannouch praised the developmental momentum in the three southern regions that hosted the initial phases of the tour, describing them as models of sustainable development due to significant projects in infrastructure, health, education, and tourism.
Additionally, members of the party’s political bureau held a series of meetings in the Souss-Massa region to discuss both national and international issues, as well as to analyze the current political and social climate. These meetings also addressed organizational aspects of the party, aimed at strengthening cohesion and developing strategies to meet future challenges. Such efforts reflect the party’s commitment to supporting government policies and fulfilling citizens’ aspirations.
