Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce tied the knot on Friday, igniting a whirlwind of media attention. If you’re struggling to keep up, here’s a comprehensive guide to the key highlights from their glamorous wedding at Madison Square Garden.
First off, the guest list was reportedly over 1,000 strong. According to Variety, invitees received watermarked digital invitations along with NDAs. Celebrities spotted entering MSG included Ed Sheeran, Bradley Cooper, Zoë Kravitz, Jack Antonoff, Gigi Hadid, Dakota Johnson, Ethan Hawke, MGK, Jason Sudeikis, Hugh Grant, and Camila Cabello. Other stars like Anya Taylor-Joy, Tom Hanks, Steven Spielberg, Paul McCartney, Sacha Baron Cohen, AMC Theatres CEO Adam Aron, and former Disney CEO Bob Iger made more discreet entrances. Harry Styles was invited but couldn’t attend due to his tour, and it’s been reported that Jennifer Aniston was also invited but did not show up.
Recent confirmations of attendees from People include Emma Stone, Stephen Colbert, Conan O’Brien, Millie Bobby Brown, Ice Spice, Brad Pitt, Gracie Abrams, Ronan Farrow, St. Vincent, Adam Scott, Jennifer Lopez, Paul Rudd, and Seth Meyers.
Multiple sources told Variety that guests were somewhat “flying blind” regarding wedding details, with minimal information about the theme or dress code. Many attendees were simply instructed to be in New York City on the morning of July 3 and await further instructions.
Last year, Swift shared on “The Graham Norton Show” that she intended to have a large guest list to avoid any awkward exclusions.
“I’m so excited about it. I know planning will be enjoyable because stressful weddings usually come with small guest lists and tricky decisions,” she explained. “I’m not going to do that.”
A source confirmed to Variety that Mark Seed acted as the wedding planner.
Shortly after the ceremony, images emerged online of an ivory handkerchief handed to guests. The handkerchief featured a lace design with a monogram of Swift and Kelce’s initials, along with the lyric, “So it’s gonna be forever…” from Swift’s popular song “Blank Space,” and included the date “July 3, 2026,” and the location “New York City.”
Thanks to a now-deleted post by AMC CEO Aron, we have insights into the wedding decor. He noted that upon entry, everything—floor, walls, and ceiling—was draped in peach and white. Pictures of Taylor and Travis from infancy through their teenage years adorned the venue.
He described how a section of MSG felt transformed into an intimate garden, decorated in green and white, with real and artificial flowers, and rows of chairs set up to accommodate around 1,000 guests while maintaining an intimate atmosphere.
Adam Sandler officiated the ceremony, as confirmed in a press release shortly after the event. TMZ reported that he even performed an original song for the couple. The moment Swift and Kelce exchanged vows was showcased on digital billboards outside MSG, reading, “JUST MARRIED!”
The press release also included various details about the ceremony attire.
Taylor and Travis’s wedding attire was created by Christian Dior Haute Couture, designed under the direction of Jonathan Anderson, with personal collaboration from the couple. Notably, they chose not to have traditional bridesmaids or groomsmen; instead, Taylor’s brother Austin Swift served as her Man of Honor, while Jason Kelce was Travis’s Best Man, combining both families in the ceremony officiated by Adam Sandler.
On Saturday morning, “Good Morning America” host Robin Roberts confirmed that Stevie Nicks performed at the wedding, describing the experience as “really intimate.” Co-host George Stephanopoulos added that despite the size of Madison Square Garden, the event had a personal feel.
In the lead-up to the wedding, Swift and Kelce donated $26 million to over 20 charities, including the Food Bank for NYC, the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, and Children’s Mercy Hospital.
