A person claiming to work with a transportation application has been accused of detaining and raping a woman in a residential garage, before being arrested in Casablanca on Monday, July 6.
The police had opened a judicial investigation following a notification they received from a woman claiming that her friend was being detained and sexually assaulted by the suspect, where the investigations and inquiries led to identifying the victim’s location, as well as the arrest of the suspect while he was caught in the act of committing these criminal acts.
According to preliminary investigation information, the suspect deceived the victim by claiming he was providing transport using electronic applications, where he transported her in a light vehicle and detained her inside it at the residential garage, before subjecting her to sexual assault.
The suspect has been kept under police custody pending the judicial investigation which is being conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, in order to reveal all circumstances, details, and backgrounds of this case, as well as to identify all the criminal acts attributed to the suspect.
