A fugitive wanted in connection with the Monaco bombing that injured a sanctioned Ukrainian oligarch and a woman has been discovered shot dead in Ukraine, according to reports.
The body of Ukrainian national Anastasiia Berezovska was found near Kyiv around 11 p.m. on Monday. Two suspects have been arrested, as reported by the Ukrainian outlet Pravda.
Local sources indicate that a current officer from the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) and a former police officer are among the detained individuals.
Berezovska returned to Ukraine last Wednesday after spending over a year abroad, according to Pravda.Anastasiia Berezovska, linked to the Monaco bombing, has been found dead in Ukraine.
At 39 years old, Berezovska was accused of targeting Ukrainian businessman Vadym Yermolaiev, 58, by detonating a makeshift bomb at the entrance of his building in Monaco last Monday.
On Friday, authorities identified her, and an Interpol “red notice” was issued for her arrest on charges that include attempted murder, placing an explosive device in public, and conspiracy.
Initial investigations suggested that a man wearing a bucket hat had executed the attack.

However, Berezovska had planted an explosive-laden backpack outside Yermolaiev’s apartment, detonating it remotely.
She fled the scene using a rental car from Germany, reaching the French-Italian border before heading to Switzerland, as detailed by the Italian news agency ANSA, before later returning to Germany.
Both Yermolaiev and the woman with him, Anna Nasobina, sustained injuries in the blast; Nasobina, 46, tragically lost her legs during the attack while accompanying her 13-year-old son.
Yermolaiev, a multimillionaire residing in Monaco, has faced sanctions from Kyiv since December 2023, reportedly due to his business dealings in Russian-occupied Crimea, as reported by France24.
He is one of Ukraine’s wealthiest tycoons, with significant interests in real estate, manufacturing, and agriculture.
In 2017, he renounced his Ukrainian citizenship to become a citizen of Cyprus, as he revealed to Forbes Ukraine.
Additionally, Yermolaiev’s eldest son, Artur, was arrested in Cyprus last year for allegedly orchestrating large-scale fraudulent call centers targeting European citizens, according to Pravda.
