The local authorities in the province of Al-Haouz reported that 3 individuals, two Moroccan tourists accompanied by a natural environment guide, are currently among the missing following a sudden avalanche that occurred today, Sunday, on Mount Toubkal in the Al-Haouz province.
The local authorities clarified that the individuals in question were part of a group of tourists, accompanied by two natural environment guides, who spent their night at a shelter located in the Toubkal area before heading towards the Imlil center in the morning. They added that the remaining members of the group managed to survive and return to the aforementioned shelter.
The local authorities, in coordination with security services, civil protection, and specialized teams, are conducting search and combing operations to determine the whereabouts of the missing individuals, despite the difficult weather conditions and fluctuations affecting the region. Additionally, all necessary human and logistical resources are being mobilized to ensure the success of the search operations.
