The African Football Confederation stated that it is investigating incidents that occurred during the match between Algeria and Nigeria in the Africa Cup. Alongside the “match between Morocco and Cameroon.”
The Confederation announced on Monday that it has collected “reports from recent matches and video evidence indicating behavior that may be unacceptable from some players and officials, and has opened an investigation regarding the events that occurred during the quarter-final matches of the Total Energies Africa Cup of Nations, Morocco 2025, between the Cameroon national team and the Morocco national team, as well as between the Algeria national team and the Nigeria national team.”
According to “CAF,” it has referred these cases to the Disciplinary Committee for investigation, and has called for appropriate action to be taken if the individuals involved are found to have committed any violations. This includes reviewing video footage of an incident allegedly involving some media representatives exhibiting inappropriate behavior within the mixed zone.
“CAF” strongly condemned any inappropriate behavior that occurs during matches, especially those targeting the officiating crew or match organizers. Efforts will be made to take appropriate action against anyone whose conduct does not align with the professional standards in place for “CAF” events.
