A number of accounts on social media and messaging applications in Morocco circulated an audio recording of the TikToker Hicham Girando, who resides in Canada. It was clear from the content of the conversation that it involved a bargaining situation regarding the non-publication of a certain video.
In the audio recording, Girando demanded from one of the individuals to negotiate with him as others do to resolve the matter, in a clear indication of asking for financial compensation. Meanwhile, the supposed victim was attempting to dissuade the TikToker from publishing information related to him on the platform “Challenge.” This platform is known for defamation, extortion, and fabricating lies.
In a similar subject, the wife of a recently deceased individual in Montreal, Canada, appeared in a video with audio and visuals, complaining about Hicham Girando exploiting the case of her husband’s death. She stated that he asked members of the Moroccan community to collect money and donations under the pretext of helping to transfer the deceased’s body to his hometown of Essaouira in Morocco.
The wife of the deceased confirmed that she did not ask for any financial assistance from anyone. She does not know Girando at all and has not communicated with him before, indicating that the process of transferring her husband’s body for burial in Morocco is proceeding smoothly and under the supervision of the relevant authority at the Moroccan embassy.
For some time, Hicham Girando has been trying to exploit any issue related, closely or distantly, to Morocco and Moroccans, in order to delve into it and earn a living through distortion, forgery, lies, and extortion.
