Medical examination results revealed that activist Sion Asdoun died due to complication from infections following a head injury, which resulted in bleeding in the meninges, brain contusions, and a skull fracture.
The Attorney General at the Casablanca Appeals Court reported on Saturday that on November 7, 2025, the public prosecutor was notified of the death of Sion Shimon Harim Broch Asdoun. An autopsy was ordered as part of an investigation overseen by the prosecutor, entrusting it to a three-member committee of forensic medicine specialists.
The Attorney General clarified that the investigation’s findings indicated that the death was due to infectious complications from a traumatic head injury, which led to bleeding in the meninges, brain contusions, and a skull fracture.
Furthermore, the source added that these conclusions suggest the victim may have fallen from a ladder while trimming his garden, supported by initial results from the investigation. The public prosecutor’s office will take appropriate legal action once the research is complete.
The statement noted that the Attorney General announced that following the communiqué issued by the public prosecutor on August 19, 2025, regarding Sion Shimon Harim Broch Asdoun, who was found unconscious at his home and subsequently transported to the hospital, instructions were given to the judicial police to investigate the incident, the results of which were publicly announced at that time.
