Vicious Pitbull and Malinois Attack Man in Tangier, Inflicting Serious Injuries

A 17-year-old boy was attacked by three aggressive dogs while on a family outing at “Mrisat” Beach in Tangier on Friday, September 19. The attack resulted in severe injuries that left him unable to move.

The owner of the three dogs, two Belgian Malinois and one Pit Bull, was reportedly training them for aggression, according to the victim’s family. The dogs suddenly broke away from their owner and assaulted the young man, who was lying on the beach.

An ambulance was called to transport the victim to Mohammed V Hospital. The police also arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation into the circumstances of the incident. The dog owner was subsequently released after being questioned, and the dogs were not taken to veterinary services.

According to Law No. 12.56, dangerous dogs are defined as those that exhibit aggressive behavior and pose a threat to public safety. The law specifies prohibited breeds, including Pit Bulls and Malinois.

The law stipulates penalties of up to six months in prison, even if the dog did not cause any actual harm, in addition to monetary fines. If a dog attack results in injury, the penalties are more severe, particularly if it leads to permanent disability.
