Local authorities in the nouace district reported that a 12-year-old boy drowned on Sunday after accidentally falling into an unguarded water basin designed for wastewater collection. This basin was constructed by a private company in the commune of Ouled Azzouz.
According to the same source, local authorities, royal gendarmerie, and civil protection services, supported by a team of divers, responded to the scene immediately after being notified of the incident. The victim’s body was recovered and taken to the mortuary.
Additionally, an investigation has been initiated by the royal gendarmerie under the supervision of the relevant public prosecutor’s office. The investigation aims to uncover all circumstances surrounding the incident and to establish any associated responsibilities.
