The Spanish Civil Guard has arrested a man in Valencia on charges related to terrorism and alleged extremist activities linked to the promotion of Hamas. This arrest is part of a judicial investigation that began in late 2023, focusing on an individual residing in Valencia since 2020 who was involved in advanced radicalization through the consumption and dissemination of jihadist propaganda.
The Civil Guard reported on Saturday that the suspect was using various social media accounts to share content supporting the military operations of Hamas’s military wing, the Al-Qassam Brigades. This material was deemed capable of attracting and radicalizing others, inciting them to carry out terrorist attacks. The suspect sourced videos from official channels associated with the terrorist organization and reposted them on his accounts.
During the final stages of the investigation, it was revealed that the arrested individual accepted violence as a means to achieve his objectives, indicating a serious threat that led to his arrest. Following his apprehension and subsequent presentation to judicial authorities, the court ordered his provisional detention on charges of self-radicalization and terrorist training.
