The Canadian national team achieved a resounding victory over their Qatari counterpart with a clean sheet of six goals in the match held this morning, Friday, on the pitch of BC Place in Vancouver, as part of the second round of matches in Group B of the 2026 World Cup finals.
This match was characterized by the brilliant forward Jonathan David scoring the second hat-trick in the World Cup, following that of Argentine legend Lionel Messi against the Algerian national team.
The six goals for the hosts were scored by Kyle Larin (16) and Jonathan David (29, 45+3, and 90+2), along with substitutes Nathan Saliba (64) and Mohamed Mnaï (75, own goal).
Qatar finished the match with nine players after the expulsion of Hammam Al-Amin (33) and Issam Madi (51).
Canada topped Group B with four points, ahead on goal difference of Switzerland, which defeated Bosnia and Herzegovina 4-1 earlier, bringing the two teams significantly closer to securing the two qualifying tickets against third-placed Bosnia and fourth-placed Qatar, with one point.
