A French company specialized in defense technology and artificial intelligence announced a partnership with the Kingdom of Morocco, aimed at developing defense systems based on artificial intelligence and autonomous technologies.
“Harmattan AI” stated in an official statement published on its website that this partnership aims to enhance Morocco’s technological and industrial capabilities in the defense sector. This will be achieved through the development of advanced solutions relying on artificial intelligence, including monitoring, reconnaissance, and support systems for defense operations.
The statement added that the agreement includes working on creating local production capabilities within Morocco, which allows for the transfer of part of the technology and the development of an innovative defense industry based on modern technologies, alongside the establishment of a research and development center in the field of defense artificial intelligence.
Additionally, the cooperation, according to the same source, includes developing partnerships with Moroccan higher education and scientific research institutions, aiming to support the training of local competencies in the field of advanced defense technologies.
The statement quoted the co-founder and CEO of the company as saying that this partnership reflects Morocco’s trend towards enhancing its strategic independence and building sovereign technological capabilities in the field of modern defense.
