The police elements in the Tangier Security Department managed, today, Monday, January 26, to arrest a 34-year-old French citizen, who was the subject of an international arrest warrant issued against him by the judicial authorities in France.
The operation to check the individual against the database of the International Criminal Police Organization “Interpol” revealed that he is wanted internationally under a Red Notice, issued at the request of the National Central Bureau in Paris, for suspected involvement in a case related to the formation of a criminal gang and international drug trafficking using stolen vehicles.
The National Central Bureau, “Interpol Rabat,” which is part of the General Directorate of National Security, has been tasked with notifying its counterpart in France of the arrest related to the extradition process.
The arrest of the suspect comes within the context of the Moroccan security services’ commitment to activating mechanisms for international security cooperation, particularly in pursuing and apprehending individuals wanted internationally for cross-border crime issues.
