The Council of Government approved today, Friday, the draft decree No. 2.25.1116 amending and supplementing decree No. 2.07.155 issued on 5 Rajab 1429 (9 July 2008) regarding the allocation of a reward for workers in traditional education institutions and a scholarship for students therein, presented by the Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs.
A statement from the Ministry of Relations with Parliament, the official spokesman for the government, indicated that this project comes to qualify traditional education, which plays a significant role in the economic and social development of the Kingdom through its effective contribution to achieving the goal of universal education, combating dropout and school absenteeism, increasing enrollment rates, and reducing illiteracy rates, with the aim of encouraging attendance and facilitating access to it.
The same source indicated that the aim of this draft decree is to increase the amounts of the monthly lump-sum reward allocated to workers in its institutions, as well as to raise the value of the scholarship allocated to students therein.
