King Mohammed VI, President of the Al-Quds Committee, received an invitation from the President of the United States, Donald Trump, to join as a founding member of the Peace Council. This council is intended by the American president as an initiative aiming to “contribute to peace efforts in the Middle East and adopt a new approach to conflict resolution in the world.”
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs mentioned in a statement that participation in this council is limited to a select group of prominent leaders on the international stage who are engaged for a secure and prosperous future for future generations.
This invitation represents recognition of royal leadership and the status of the king as an indispensable actor in the field of peace. It also reflects the trust he enjoys with the President of the United States and the international community.
After praising President Donald Trump’s commitment and vision to promote peace, the king graciously responded positively to this invitation. In this context, the Kingdom of Morocco will work on ratifying the founding charter of this council.
The Peace Council will legally take the form of an international organization aiming to promote stability, establish governance, and ensure lasting peace in conflict-affected or threatened areas.
The mission of this important body will focus on practical cooperation, effective action, and partnerships directed towards tangible results. Participation in this council will be exclusively by invitation from the President of the United States.
On another note, the Kingdom of Morocco praises the announcement of the launch of the second phase of President Trump’s comprehensive peace plan, as well as the official establishment of the National Committee for Gaza as a temporary transitional body.
Morocco, under royal leadership, renews its steadfast commitment to a just, comprehensive, and sustainable peace in the Middle East that allows for the establishment of a Palestinian state within the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, living side by side in peace with Israel.
