From the opening of the tournament to the final… Congolese Ndala as the referee for the Morocco and Senegal match.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has entrusted Congolese referee Jean-Jacques Ndala with officiating the final match of the Africa Cup of Nations, which will bring together the teams of Morocco and Senegal on Sunday, January 18, at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.

Ndala has held the FIFA international badge since 2013. He is one of the prominent referees on the African continent in recent years, thanks to his calmness, firmness, and consistent performance.

Since his debut at the Africa Cup of Nations finals in 2019, the Congolese referee has continued to confirm his standing, entering this edition as his fourth participation in “CAN.” He also previously officiated the opening match of this tournament, which saw the Moroccan team face the Comoros, ending in a victory for the Lions by two goals to none.

Among the notable matches that Ndala has officiated is the match between Egypt and Senegal in Cairo in March 2022, which ended in a victory for the Pharaohs by one goal to none. This is in addition to the matches of Senegal against Rwanda in Diamniadio (June 2022) and Benin in Cotonou (June 2023).

Assisting Ndala in officiating the “CAN” final will be his compatriots Ghilain Ngiela and Mwania Mbilisi as assistant referees. The role of fourth official has been assigned to South African Tom Bongaile.

As for the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) technology, it will be overseen by Gabonese referee Pierre-Gislain Acho, who previously managed the semi-final between Senegal and Egypt, assisted by Stephen Moyo.
