The African Confederation announced that the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco 2025 has become the most successful commercial story in the history of African football, after the commercial success of the competition led to an increase of over 90% in the revenues of the African Football Confederation (CAF) related to this edition of the tournament.
This came driven by a noticeable increase in the number of commercial partners for CAF, a rise in the distribution of media broadcasting rights, alongside CAF entering new markets, particularly in the Far East, China, and Japan, while also strengthening its presence in traditional markets.
Growth of Commercial Sponsors
This growth is accompanied by a gradual expansion of the sponsors’ portfolio. The number of commercial partners rose from 9 during the Africa Cup of Nations, Total Energies, Cameroon 2021, to 17 during the Africa Cup of Nations, Total Energies, Ivory Coast 2023.
CAF continued in the 2025 edition in Morocco to attract more partners, bringing the current number to 23 sponsors.
