The national security elements at the Tangier Med port managed, today Thursday, January 15, to thwart an attempt to smuggle 893 kilograms of hashish on board a four-wheel drive vehicle with foreign license plates.
The border control and inspection operations resulted in the seizure of the smuggled drugs, carefully hidden within the vehicle’s metal structure. Additionally, the investigative procedures led to the arrest of the driver and his companion, both Moroccan citizens aged 56 and 46 years.
The suspects have been subjected to a judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, to uncover all those involved in this case, as well as to determine the other supposed national and international extensions of this criminal activity.
