Workers of “Hands 8” Company in Tangier called for urgent intervention to uncover the fate of the factory, due to a climate of intense anxiety and uncertainty hanging over the future of the South Korean factory.
A group of employees at the factory located in the industrial zone of Sharafat in Tangier filed an official collective complaint demanding immediate action from the responsible authorities, following suspicious movements that suggest the factory is “closing its doors,” which has led to protests and a work stoppage since last Sunday.
Workers confirm in a complaint text obtained by Tangier 7 that they are living in a state of “anticipation and turmoil” due to the lack of clarity on whether the factory will resume its normal activities soon or face a permanent closure.
The workers affirmed that their families rely entirely on the company as a primary source of livelihood, which makes the current situation “concerning” and requires urgent intervention to protect their legal and social rights.
After the protests, the workers sent these correspondences to the overseeing minister and local authorities, without any official clarifications issued regarding what is happening.
