Abd al-Malik al-Saadi University announced in a statement that it has been decided to suspend classes starting from Monday, February 2, due to expected weather disturbances.
The university administration stated that all scheduled educational and scientific activities have been postponed starting from Monday, February 2, 2026, until the weather conditions improve. It clarified that the decision was made “to ensure the safety of students, professors, and administrative staff.”
The university administration added that this decision comes based on the warning bulletin issued by the Directorate of Meteorology on Sunday, February 1, which anticipates heavy rainfall in the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region, as well as in line with the recommendations of vigilance cells in the region.
According to the administration of Abd al-Malik al-Saadi University, this decision includes all educational activities, including classes, lectures, graduation research discussions, and scientific seminars. It also applies to administrative and educational facilities in all university institutions located in the cities of Tetouan, Tangier, Al Hoceima, Larache, and Ksar al-Kabir.
Furthermore, developments in the weather conditions will be closely monitored to update the situation. This will follow improvements in weather conditions and the recommendations of regional vigilance committees.
It is noteworthy that the regional education directorates in the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region also announced the temporary suspension of classes for the upcoming week due to expected weather disturbances.
