The Algerian national team exited the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations from the quarter-finals after a harsh defeat against Nigeria with a score of 0-2, in a match held at the Grand Stadium of Marrakech as part of the quarter-final round.
The “Desert Warriors” entered the match with high confidence after an excellent defensive performance throughout the tournament, having conceded only one goal prior to this match, and progressed to the quarter-finals after a tough victory over the Democratic Republic of the Congo in extra time (1-0) with a wonderful goal from substitute Adel Boulbina. However, against Nigeria, the Green Eagles, the Algerian team was unable to maintain its defensive cohesion.
