A significant delegation from the American Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) conducted a visit to the Moulay Hassan Stadium in Rabat on the afternoon of Tuesday, January 6. This was part of a work visit program that this delegation is carrying out in Morocco, aimed at observing the Moroccan experience in securing the events of the Africa Cup of Nations.
During this visit, the American delegation was provided with comprehensive explanations about the security and public order protocol implemented by the Rabat Security Directorate in coordination with the central services of the General Directorate of National Security. This included monitoring the flow of crowds through main road axes and public transport stations, all the way to their entry into the final monitoring area and entering the stadium under optimal conditions.
The American delegation was also informed about the police human resources and significant logistical capabilities that the National Security services have allocated, including intervention vehicles and visual surveillance systems with cameras and drones. Additionally, they learned about the operational techniques of specialized teams such as mounted police, forensic police, and teams for detecting explosives and managing riots, among others.
Members of the American FBI delegation expressed their admiration for the advanced level of infrastructure that Morocco has prepared to host this African football celebration. They also praised the accuracy and effectiveness of the security arrangements and their significant ability to balance ensuring public safety and the safety of participants in this tournament, while maintaining the fun and excitement of football.
The American delegation, which is visiting Morocco from January 4 to 7, has reviewed several aspects of the security protocol adopted by the General Directorate of National Security during this football tournament. They particularly focused on the security arrangements for the Moroccan national team match and the operation mechanism of the International Security Cooperation Center in Rabat. This is part of a strategic vision aimed at sharing expertise with their Moroccan counterparts, in anticipation of the upcoming World Cups in 2026 and 2030, to be held in the United States, Morocco, Spain, and Portugal, respectively.
