🔥 Arrest of Moroccan Who Fled to Spain After Scamming Citizens and Stealing 785 Million

The Spanish Civil Guard arrested a 38-year-old Moroccan citizen after he was subject to an international search and arrest warrant issued by Interpol at the request of the Moroccan authorities. This was due to his involvement in fraud operations amounting to 748,000 euros (approximately 785 million centimes) targeting several Moroccan citizens within Morocco.

The arrest operation took place on November 26, following confirmation from the Spanish police of the suspect’s whereabouts in the town of Massanet de la Selva (Girona province). He had been trying to hide there for months.

According to an official statement issued on Friday, December 5, the Civil Guard coordinated with the local police of the town to execute a precise security operation. This ended with the successful arrest of the wanted person without incidents.

Morocco had issued an official extradition request at the beginning of 2024 after extensive investigations into the fraud cases that the accused is suspected of committing before fleeing abroad.

The Spanish authorities are continuing the legal procedures and reviewing the request for his extradition to Morocco. However, the name of the arrested person, his profession, or the nature of the fraud operations he was involved in has not been announced.
